There is an easy solution to send e-mails from WordPress to an outgoing SMTP server using SMTP authentication.

Simply install the latest version of the following plugin from the WordPress.org plugins collection:

• WP Mail SMTP (or download version 0.9.5 here)

and configure it with the following options:

• Send all WordPress emails via SMTP: checked
• SMTP host: mail.web-solutions.dk
• SMTP port: 465
• Encryption: use SSL encryption
• Authentication: Yes: Use SMTP authentication

You will also need to provide your:

• mail username (usually your full e-mail address)
• password
