Applicant must be based within the European Union or EFTA. After Brexit, UK companies do not qualify. Neither do Gibraltar companies. We offer a free Trustee service for .FR domains.

Registrants from the following European countries are allowed to register domain names under .FR and the other AFNIC TLDs mentioned above:
AT, BE, BG, CY, CZ, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, AX, FR, GP, GF, MQ, RE, TF, YT, PF, NC, PM, WF, GR, HU, IS, IE, IT, LI, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SE, SI, SK, CH.

A trademark registered for the European Union or a Member State is no longer sufficient to be entitled to register .FR domains. If you are a UK company with a European/OHIM trademark, we recommend using our free trustee service.

Registrants based in the UK who registered their domains before January 1st 2021 are allowed to keep their domain names. From January 1st 2021 going forward, the UK no longer meets the eligibility criteria for .fr domain registrations.

Both owner and administrative contact need to have a local address within the European Union or EFTA. If one of the contacts does not have the local address, you may opt for our Trustee Service for both contacts; the Trustee Service cannot be applied only for one of the two contacts.
