Requirements for Norwegian domain registration
Norwegian domain authority require that the registrant must be a local company. But don’t worry. If you have no local representation in Norway, Web Solutions will provide this for you with Local Trustee Service for Norway. We will simply assign a local Trustee who will act as the official registrant on your behalf.

If you have your own local company in Norway, the total annual cost is USD 125.00
With the Local Presence Service, the total annual cost is USD 125.00 plus USD 125.00.
The fees include DNS service/web-forwarding.
Applicant needs to be a Norwegian company, and the administrative contact must be located in Norway. EuropeID further provide a Local Presence/Trustee Service for registrants who do not have a representation in Norway.

Is local company in Norway required?
Norwegian organisation number must be provided. If you have no local representation, you can opt for our Local Presence Service for Norway.
Is it necessary to have a local administrative contact in Norway?
The administrative contact must be a resident of Norway. For foreign registrants this will be offered as part of our Trustee service.
Are trademarks applicable in Norway?
.NO domain names can only be registered by companies. Unfortunately, trademarks grant no specific access to register domain names. Please refer to our Trustee service for .NO domains.
Is Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) offered?
The IDN character set embraces all official Norwegian languages, including Norwegian bokmål, Norwegian nynorsk, North Sámi, South Sámi and Lule Sámi.

Are generic domains available for .NO domains?
As a principle, you may choose any domain name. However, some select domain names are prohibited or reserved by the Norwegian domain authority for technical, ethical or national considerations.
Applicant must verify that, to the best of their knowledge, registration or use of the domain name does not breach any third party's registered or unregistered rights to the domain name, and is not in violation of Norwegian law, and finally does not make an unwarranted impression of being connected with the Norwegian public-sector or the execution of public powers.
How long does it take to register a .NO domain name?
Usually, it does not take longer than 1 day to register a .NO domain in Norway. We will submit the application as soon as possible. However, we cannot offer guarantees as we have no impact on the speed of the Norwegian domain authority once the domain application has been submitted.
What is the minimum number of characters a .NO domain name can consist of?
Applications for .NO domain names with less than 2 characters cannot be accepted.
What is the maximum number of characters a .NO domain name can consist of?
Applications for .NO domain names with more than 63 characters cannot be accepted.
Is it possible to register more than one Norwegian domain name?

Do I have to configure my DNS in advance?
If you choose to use your own DNS, all specified name servers must be operational and respond authoritatively for the .NO domain.
